Behavioral Health Treatment for Adolescent Girls and Boys

Located in West Tennessee, Recovery Academy is a treatment program for girls and boys ages 12-17 who are struggling with behavioral health issues and general psychiatric disorders.

Recovery Academy’s empirically-supported group therapy model also makes this program highly effective for adolescents dealing with a long history of depression, self-injurious behavior, substance abuse, mood instabilities, trauma and eating disorders. Group therapy sessions on trauma resolution and anger management are a regular part of the program.

Our Program

Recovery Academy treats mental health issues through a multi-level treatment program design consisting of inpatient treatment (acute and residential), PHP, IOP and aftercare (which includes outpatient and community-based Alcoholics Anonymous). This program is ideal for people stepping down from a “higher” level of care or an adolescent who needs treatment for the first time.

What We Treat

Recovery Academy specializes in treating:

  • Adolescent depression
  • Self-mutilation
  • Drug & alcohol abuse/dependence
  • Relationship dependence
  • Mood instability
  • Psychological trauma (grief/loss, trauma related to physical, sexual and/or emotional abuse)

Continuum of Care

As one of the few behavioral health centers in Shelby County offering inpatient treatment for teens and children, Lakeside Behavioral Health understands that your child or teen’s mental health needs may change.

That’s why we offer multiple levels of care, including a more intensive program for severe behavioral health issues called the Bridges Program. The Bridges staff works closely with patients, parents and caseworkers (as necessary). We provide stabilization and teach teens how to make better choices, develop social skills and learn coping mechanisms to improve their quality of life.

Levels of care include acute inpatientintensive outpatient (IOP)partial hospitalization (PHP) and short-term residential care.
