Helping Children and Teens Heal While Staying Connected to Home
When your child or teen is struggling with emotional or behavioral challenges, finding the right level of care can feel overwhelming. The Child and Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) at Lakeside Behavioral Health System provides intensive, structured treatment during the day while allowing patients to return home each evening.
Our Partial Hospitalization Program
Our PHP is designed for children and adolescents who need more support than traditional therapy and do not require 24-hour inpatient care. Our program helps young people build healthier coping skills, improve emotional regulation and regain confidence in a supportive and encouraging environment.
We created two separate programs, divided by age, to best support our patients.
- Adolescents ages 12 to 17: Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.
- Children, ages 5 to 11: Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.
Comprehensive Individualized Care
Every child and adolescent receives a personalized treatment plan based on their unique needs and goals. Our multidisciplinary team works closely with patients and families to provide evidence-based care that promotes lasting progress.
Treatment may include:
- Individual therapy
- Group therapy
- Family involvement and education
- Psychiatric evaluation and ongoing clinical oversight
- Education services, including small study groups to help patients keep up with their schoolwork while receiving treatment
Therapeutic Experiences That Inspire Growth
Healing happens in many different ways. Along with traditional therapy, patients participate in recreational therapy to encourage self-expression, build confidence and strengthen healthy coping skills.
Therapeutic activities may include:
- Recreational therapy
- Equine-assisted therapy
- Art therapy
- Music therapy
- Therapeutic group activities focused on communication, problem-solving, emotional regulation and resilience
