The Bridges Program
Our Bridges program treats adolescents ages 12-17 who are struggling with behavioral health issues or general psychiatric disorders that have increasingly disrupted their lives, homes and communities.
Teenage patients in this program typically have more urgent, acute mental issues that need help and attention and may have had more recent instances of high-risk behaviors defiance, aggression, self-harming behaviors, psychosis or suicidal thoughts. These issues may be a result of serious trauma, such as physical abuse, sexual abuse, severe neglect or sex trafficking. The trauma of these events may lead to deep depression, post-traumatic stress and other behavioral health issues.
The Bridges staff works closely with patients, parents and (as necessary) caseworkers to help stabilize the most severe, pressing symptoms in the patients. From there, the goal of the program is to teach teens how to make better choices, develop social skills and learn coping mechanisms to improve their quality of life. Through individual and group therapy sessions, patients go through a multi-level treatment program design consisting of inpatient treatment (acute and residential), PHP and IOP.
Continuum of Care
As one of the few behavioral health centers in Shelby County offering inpatient treatment for teens and children, Lakeside Behavioral Health understands that your child or teen’s mental health needs may change.
That’s why we offer multiple levels of care, including intensive program for less severe behavioral health issues called Recovery Academy. Recovery Academy is a treatment program for children (ages 12 to 17) with mild or moderate behavioral health issues, general psychiatric disorders or substance use.
Levels of care include acute inpatient, intensive outpatient (IOP), partial hospitalization (PHP) and short-term residential care.
