Lakeside Behavioral Health System Appoints David Morris as New CEO

Lakeside Behavioral Health System announced the appointment of David Morris, LSW, MBA as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective today. Morris succeeds Joy Golden, who announced her retirement in June 2024 after 24 successful years of leadership at Lakeside.

Morris is a seasoned executive with more than 30 years’ experience in the behavioral health sector including holding CEO roles at facilities and operations across eight states. Most recently, Morris served as CEO for six years at Mind Care Solutions, a national provider of telepsychiatry serving healthcare and hospital environments.

Prior to that, Morris held leadership positions including at successful startup operations for two behavioral hospitals in Colorado and leading five hospital turn-around operations as CEO across six states. Earlier in his career, Morris served as Group CEO, providing multi-facility oversight of behavioral health hospitals in the West Texas and the north Dallas area. Morris’ clinical background combined with his leadership approach positioned these hospitals as leaders in their respective markets by providing consistent quality care.

Morris holds a BA in Psychology from Louisiana Tech University, a MSW from the University of Arkansas and an MBA from Colorado State University.
